PORT POLLENCA TO CAP FORMENTOR

Regularly ranked in the top 20 routes in the world. A very scenic and hilly ride out to the most northern point of Mallorca, the lighthouse at Cap Formentor from Port de Pollença. The surface is great now all the way having been resurfaced in October 2014.

Highlights: Mirador de la Creueta viewing point; (+ the optional climb to Talaia d'Albercutx from this viewing point); Formentor beach; the view down to Cala Murta just before the tunnel and looking out onto Menorca. The fantastic scenery, the amazing road surface..

What to be aware of: Wild goats in the road are common. The road surface is just brilliant, billiard table smooth! - this is not an excuse to ride your hire bike like you have stolen it! The tunnel after Cala Murta, gets very dark, very quickly. It obviously helps to remove your sunglasses (yes, we have all been known to forget) and helps other road users if you have flashing lights to warn that you are not just another bump on the road.

With the route being mostly alongside the ocean, it can get windy. We advise setting off earlier rather than later as the tourist buses and hire cars venture out in force after 09:30.
